Indianapolis Welding/Med O2 is a 50 year-old, third-generation Central Indiana  business. The company supplies products and gases to the manufacturing, medical and public safety professions throughout the state of Indiana through its three locations in Indianapolis, West Lafayette and Edinburgh.

Centrally located on McCarty Street, directly south of the new Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis, the company employs a staff of nearly 20 people. In late 1948 Indianapolis Welding was founded in a simple Virginia Avenue storefront, where welding supplies were bought daily by tradesman working throughout the city. Making way for progress, the business was asked by the city to relocate in the late 1960s to accommodate the I-70 highway build. Owners found their new McCarty Street home, where they’ve continued to operate ever since.

The company shifted niche operations over the decades from only welding supplies to repackaging gases. Today, through MedO2, the business supplies needed gases to the medical, manufacturing and public safety professions. Customers include: physicians, dentists, veterinarians, hospitals, home healthcare, fire departments and military units, aircraft, racing, automotive and construction throughout Indiana.

As Central Indiana life science business and research community continues to grow, MedO2 has been a key supplier of critical gases. In fact, the company supplies needed gases for cancer scientist researchers at the Indiana University Cancer Center.

The business continues to offer welding tools and gear from its storefront on McCarty. There also are facilities throughout the state of Indiana located north in West Lafayette and south in Edinburgh.
